The Hempel's garden.

We put coffee grinds in our garden beds to keep the pests away, it really worked! You need to change it monthly.

These are young peppers. We grew them in wooden boxes.

This is mom putting the coffee grinds in the garden beds.

Me watering my spring onions.

Waiting for our tomato plants to grow bigger so that we can clip them on to the grid on the wall behind.

Joss Hempel's veg for Madiba day!

Below is a picture of Joss Hempel holding veg picked from his own garden. This was his contribution to a collection made by St Francis College for the needy on Mandela Day. Thank you for your excellent effort Joss!

The Robson Herb garden...

We planted rocket, parsley, basil, coriander and tomatoes with marigolds to help keep pests away! The raised bed helps with keeping away snails but because it is a container garden we have to water often. TIP ...cut the dead flowers and leaves off to keep the plants healthy! We have millions of tomatoes growing, they just have to be left until they turn red, but we have eaten 2 and they were delicious!! We are now starting a vegetable garden...watch this space photos coming soon!! Happy Gardening Everyone! 😃
